Working Classroom Kitchen
Economically sourced from local farms and growers, healthful and nutritious meals will heal bodies, minds and spirits. Drawing whenever possible on locally grown and raised fresh fruit and vegetables, Lotus House will offer daily specials that teach everyone about healthy, low cost foods at the same time we minimize our ecological imprint.
This catering kitchen will be sized to deliver more than 350,000 nutritious meals each year to the residents of Lotus House, much of which will be “homemade” by our chef and students in our real-world, working classroom.
This unique working classroom kitchen and food service will double as a training program for the residents of Lotus House, who will have the opportunity to build basic life skills as they learn about healthful eating, food safety, and the basics of cooking at home.
For those seeking a career in the food service industry, the kitchen and food service training program will allow participants to build critical job readiness skills and experience in the operations of a professional kitchen, preparing them to enter the work world with a new and practical skill set.

Here are Some Creative Ways to Raise Funds for your Campaign:
Invite your family and friends to make a commitment with you to become a Founder with you and sponsor a room together. As an example, if each of 50 friends donate $20 per month for ten months you will have raised $10,000, over five years, $50,000.
Host events! Some fun examples: monthly dinners, parties, special occasions and celebrations of any kind (e.g., weddings, birthdays, bat/bar mitzvahs, anniversaries, holidays), flash mob, Pink Party, movie nights, book clubs and other gatherings, donations in lieu of gifts.
Become a corporate sponsor or Invite your co-workers to join you as a Founder to sponsor a room.
Encourage your place of worship, school, club, sorority/fraternity, or other organization in which you are involved or a member to become a Founder.
